Hummingbirds are year around residents of California’s North Coast where there are several local plants that give them sustenence.

Anna’s Hummingbird is the principal year around resident of California’s North Coast. Any time of year, you can see an Anna’s Hummer in back yards and along the beach trail.

In this particular photo, an Anna’s Hummingbird is about to land in my neighbor’s infamous bird tree. Armed with camera and tripod at the exact right moment, I captured the little guy just before its landing.

Hummingbirds continually entertain us with their feisty temperament.
